ABOUT LEA LENHART
"From a distance, Lea Lenhart's works resemble tapestries,
which translate the seamlessly merging shades of reality into graduated color planes.
But they are far more luminous: for the images are woven from countless small beads
of varying textures,
which refract the light or reflect it on their surface.
Lea Lenhart depicts people, insects, and flowers in this way – in a manner as true to life as possible, as far as the material allows."
Lea Lenhart (*1972, Altstätten, Switzerland) lives and works in Düsseldorf. From 2001 she studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Professor Rissa, was a master student and graduated in 2007.
The artist's works are regularly presented in solo and group exhibitions, including at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Berlinische Galerie, the Kulturforum Alte Post in Neuss, Schloss Neersen in Willich, the Kunsthalle Koblenz, the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf and the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
